Review of Suzie Wong in Bangkok

Suzie Wong’s is one of the most famous go go bars in Bangkok. I have only been there twice, but I am not sure why it is so well known. Maybe it was in a movie like The Hangover 2 or something and I just don’t know about it.

I visited Suzie Wong’s more than once with high hopes but I was always greatly disappointed. You should be able to figure out why as you continue on and read the rest of this review.

What is Suzie Wong’s?

Suzie Wong’s is an agogo on Soi Cowboy in Bangkok. Some people think go go bars aren’t like strip clubs. In some cases where the dancers all wear bikinis they’re right. At Suzie Wong’s and other bars like Crazy House though they’re wrong. If a bar with dancers who strip on stage isn’t a titty bar, then I don’t know what is.

There’s no cover charge at Suzie Wong’s or any other Thai go go bar. You just walk in and find a seat. The bar is huge. There’s a big stage and lots of seats off to the side.

You’re expected to buy a drink at Suzie Wong’s just like any other club. It’s not exactly cheap but it’s hardly outrageous. The price for a regular beer is 180 Baht. That’s about $6 in American money.

Live sex shows

I’ve heard that Suzie Wong’s used to have elaborate lesbian shows. Or maybe they still do. But I have never seen one. If they’re anything like the shows I’ve seen at bars like Baccara they’re probably more interesting to the dancers than the guys in the audience. I don’t really care to see choreographed dancing and fake pussy licking. I want to see tits! If I want to see pussy licking I can view the real thing up close and personal at Windmill in Pattaya.

There are some dancers in bikinis at Suzie Wong’s and a few naked chicks too. None of them are great looking. They get some of the oldest chicks on the strip. The full nude dancers are especially on the old side with saggy tits and stomachs. It’s like being in a titty bar in Oklahoma, except you’re in Bangkok and within walking distance of 50 other bars with better looking babes.

Go go dancers and sex

Suzie Wong’s is one of the many Soi Cowboy places that pulls a sort of bait and switch. They have the hottest chicks outside in short pants beckoning you inside. Once you’re inside the hot chicks disappear back to the outside and you’re left with the older broads on stage.

As with all go go bars, most of the dancers have sex with customers. The bar charges 800 Baht when a dancer leaves with a customer. Then the customers and dancers negotiate the price for sex. It’s usually 3000 Baht at Suzie Wong’s which is $96 American dollars. That might sound cheap but it’s more expensive than other nearby go go bars.

There’s apparently a body paint show at Suzie Wong’s to replace the lesbian show that’s gone. I haven’t seen that. Is it good? Probably not. Suzie Wong is more of a place to eat your money than give you a good time, at least in my experience. It’s not horrible, but there are so many options around I just don’t see why anyone would go here. I gave it two shots just in case I was wrong the first time around. I stand by my opinion.
