The five best go go bars in Bangkok

I’ve spent an ungodly number of hours and even more Baht in Bangkok’s world renown go go bars. While I no longer favor them as pick up destinations I still drop in from time to time if for no other reason than to get a little entertainment. Based on my most recent visits I’ve come up with my list of the five best go go bars in Bangkok.

1. Crazy House

Crazy House is probably the best go go bar in Bangkok at the moment. Conversely, it can also be the worst. Located on Sukhumvit Soi 23 just around the corner from Soi Cowboy the bar isn’t much to speak of on its own. If there were no ladies inside it would be just another in a long line of dives. But there are ladies inside and they are mostly smoking hot. On top of that the women dance fully nude which unfortunately isn’t as common as it used to be in Thai agogos.

There is a large stage that is always filled with women and lots of seats scattered around. Apparently there is even an upper level but I’ve never made it up there or seen any reason too with such amazing action on the ground floor. Bar fining goes off without a hitch though it can be tough to track down a waitress in all of the hubbub and an abundance of nearby short time hotels make everything even easier.

2. Rainbow 2

Located on the ground floor of the Nana Entertainment Plaza (NEP), Rainbow 2 is one of four Rainbow bars situated in the complex. Rainbow 4 is without question the biggest and the best and it has an entire stage filled where women who mostly have great tits dance topless. The problem is that the place fills up quickly and frequently to the point that it can be impossible to find a seat.

On top of that the staff openly and obviously favors East Asian clientele. Although it doesn’t have as many women working Rainbow 2 is more comfortable. More than a few women make their way from one Rainbow bar to another so patient guys don’t necessarily have to lose out just because they don’t want to sit crammed between two drunken Japanese guys smoking acrid cigarettes. Some people claim that Westerners can get a better shake at Rainbow 4 than Rainbow 2 (or 1 or 3) but that has not been my experience.

3. Butterflies

Butterflies is a huge bar on the top floor of Nana Plaza. It is also one of the best to be found in Bangkok. The place used to be called Jail Birdz. Back then it was boring. Now it’s well run and filled with hot chicks, including some who take their clothes off. There are several stages and a big tub for bath shows.

Butterflies is very popular but they treat customers well. Since it’s so big, it doesn’t feel too crowded either. The prices are totally reasonable and most of the dancers are friendly. I don’t really have anything bad to say about it. It’s what go go bars should aspire to be like. I have spent a lot of time in this bar.

4. Billboard

Billboard is also on the top floor of Nana Plaza. It is right across from Butterflies. That makes sense, since they are both owned by the same people. It also makes sense that both places would belong here on this list.

Like Butterflies, Billboard is a large go go bar. It is popular but it never feels to crowded to fit in. There are lots of dancers and most of them are pretty sexy. It helps that they wear bikinis, small lingerie, or even less than that. Prices are reasonable too. Just beware of the brown chick with the big butt.

5. Baccara

Baccara located in Soi Cowboy is one of the most well known go go bars in all of Bangkok for a reason. A huge number of women work at Baccara and many of them are beautiful. The place also has some of the best shows of any go go bar which adds value for those who enjoy that kind of entertainment. It’s not the best bar to simply walk in chose a woman to take out but bar fines are definitely available. It can also get crowded to the point that it can even be difficult to find a seat at prime time.

Lollipop

Honorable mention goes to Lollipop in Nana Plaza, which was formerly called Suckers. The bar isn’t anything special and the barfine is 700 Baht which is higher than the usual 500 or 600 Baht but a handful of women with absolutely amazing bodies that aren’t always apparent through their bikinis work there. Numbers 14, 21 and 22 come to mind.

But there are a lot of women in Lollipop. Even after all the name changes this place went through, it remains one of the best. It’s hard to imagine going in and not seeing any beautiful women. The small Erotica at the very top of the stairs to the left when you enter Nana Plaza also deserves a mention since some very incredible looking women work there. Oh boy!
